Today’s Devotional

"Don’t Try To Get Even, Love Your Neighbor Just As You Do Yourself..."

Practice Selflessness.

One trait that you need is selflessness. Sometimes you worry about yourself and what you want rather than desiring to spend your time with others and offering your help, this should not be the case. You must have empathy for others and be able to put yourself in someone else’s shoes. The world is a selfish place, and the only thing it cares about is what is in it for me. You do not need a reason to help and serve others, and you should be able to do it without expecting something in return.

My child, it is good to humble yourself and put others before you. In the current world, you are assumed to be foolish once you care about other people. You may be concerned if someone is okay, and you go ahead to make sure they are comfortable at all times, but the same person may think they are manipulating you without your knowledge and may go further ahead to try and take advantage of you. Regardless of this, it is necessary to allow me to conform your life to be more like me. Be a reflection of me, selflessness is shown by sacrificing for the sake of others, making peace with others, forgiving them, and having more love for others despite their weaknesses.

My precious one, love should be kind, patient, it doesn’t brag, it is not rude or self-serving. You should not be easily angered by those you care for or be resentful. Love rejoices in the truth, and it is able to bear, endure and believe all things.

There Is A Need For Care.

In the latter days, there will be many troubles, people will love money, love themselves and be proud. People will say evil things against others, they will not be thankful or kind, they will not obey their parents or be the kind of people I want. People will refuse to forgive, will gossip, and will not control themselves whatsoever. They will be cruel, hate what is good, turn against their friend, and will do foolish things without giving it a reason. People will love pleasure instead of loving me, and they will act as if they serve me but they will not have my power, stay away from those people.

My child, many times, you may take yourself out of this equation, but when you look keenly, can you say that you live in the right manner? People get hurt every day, and it is up to my children, like you, to stand apart and fill this need. You may think it is “cool” to appear unbothered and minding your business, but that doesn’t make you any different from everyone else. When you are abiding by me, your flesh has been crucified, and the life you now lead should be led by faith, where you have the assurance that I have loved you, and I would give myself for you. With this in mind, you ought to treat my people better as brothers and sisters. I have called you to freedom, use this freedom to serve one another. Bear the weaknesses of those who are not strong yet, and build them up, for even I have not pleased myself, on the contrary, I have bared all your sins and shame, to make you stand without blame.

Reflect On These Words Today:

“Instead of being motivated by selfish ambition or vanity, each of you should, in humility, be moved to treat one another as more important than yourself. Each of you should be concerned not only about your own interests but about the interests of others as well.”

(Philippians 2:3-4)
