Today’s Devotional

"Dear child; I have given you the free will to make your own choices; do it wisely..."

Making Decisions

Before one makes the final decision on whom to entrust with their life as well as who to cut off, they ought to conduct due diligence. Due to the cunning nature of humans, one needs to compare their purpose with that of others and then they can make an informed choice. By choosing someone you can look upto, you are entrusting them with critical things revolving around your life and holding onto the hope that they would never betray you no matter what happens.

It is important to clearly check out on the background of anyone you choose to confide in to avoid getting trapped in a situation where you think someone is set on seeing you succeed only to find them digging the pit on where they are directing you to pass. If this decision is made hastily and without due diligence, someone risks becoming a victim of trust gone sour. One might also lose a life-time opportunity by cutting off real friends who would do anything in their power to assist them in their hour of need.

My faithful child, you need to be careful with the different people in your life who come offering you different things in life. Amongst the people you consider friends, there are people who are on a mission to destroy you yet they have manipulated you into thinking that they wish you well and you would even vouch for them with your life. The real enemy is not the one who approaches you on the battlefield with a gun but one who hugs you yet the one who holds the knife behind you ready to stab you in the back. I know it may be difficult to identify who amongst your friends are your enemies hence you need to seek my help. Pray to me that I may give you a discerning spirit and eyes to distinguish between evil and righteousness. Understand that I can see through the hearts of men and entrust me to come to your aid so that I can help you make the right decision.

Letting your creator take charge

Once you allow me to take charge of your life, you need not be worried about the storms of life and the arrows thrown at you for I am in control of the situation.  Be confident in my ability and they trust that I will take care of any mess in your life. Outside there lie different enemies camouflaging as friends yet they are not genuine. Compare me to the rest and see that the benefits of letting me be your friend outweigh the risks. If you allow me to be your confidant, you can be assured that I will take care of you and you will not have to worry about anything in life.

Beloved, haven’t you heard of my goodness and mercies on those who put their trust in me? If you allow me to take charge and treat me like a loving friend, I will reciprocate by being loyal to you. I will answer you whenever you call me at your hour of need, I will rush to your rescue for that is what friends do.

Thoughts to reflect on today:

“Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God. They are brought to their knees and fall, but we rise up and stand firm.”

(Psalm 20)
