There are countless reasons to be thankful every day. It would be good if the first thing you do when you wake up is stay quiet with me and appreciate what you have because it is easy to lose sight of what is in front of you. How Many times do you thank me for keeping you? I have provided you with food, health, family, friends, salvation, a home, and many other things, it is only right if you become content with what you have. You may take these things for granted, and think they are nothing, but only when you lose them do you realize that you lost a blessing. You may want more or better, but remember there is someone who does not have anything to eat or will be homeless today. There are those who will die without knowing me and others are starving. When you keep your outlook on the positive side and see my love for you regardless of what you do, then you should be more grateful. When you appreciate what I have done for you, you will grow more in love with me and will have a desire to pray, give and obey even more. Step away from the world and speak to me, my child, I am pleased by your gratitude.

You may find it easy to be grateful when life is going well and you have everything you need, but it is of more importance to do while going through trials.  You may love me because I am providing for you, but when I stop, it is easy to start whining and complaining about how bad I am. The trials you get in your life are not pointless, I have a purpose for everything, even those that are not pleasant. You might not see the good now, but I have figured the whole picture and you should have hope in knowing that you are not suffering in vain, but serve a greater purpose. 

My child, giving thanks in all circumstances can be hard. When you are suffering illness, when you lose a loved one, or even when you incur a huge loss. What about that heartbreak that you still can’t see past your tears? When you feel like I am not answering you … when you are discouraged or struggling with disbelief. what about when your needs are too high and you can’t cater for them, or when people are too cruel to you. It is through these moments that it is hardest to be thankful, no matter how you try. I know that I am building into your life more than I ever could without these hard times. Allow these challenges to improve your perseverance and strength. Remember that true joy is not based on feelings or situations. My ways are bigger and thoughts higher and I want you to be assured that I hold you in my hands. 

No matter what you may be going through, my precious one, the good part is that you woke up, and you have today, You’re still here, breathing and living. Let this bring honor and let your life be given up to praise, even if that’s the most important thing you do in this life, I assure you, that I will never leave you alone. Choose joy and gratefulness and stay strong. I am working things out for your good and I hear your prayers, there is good hope for tomorrow.
